The first weekend in October saw four volunteers door-knock Dora Creek, a suburb in closest proximity to the Eraring power station.  An attitudinal survey, which covered the approaching closure of the stations, coal-ash waste and its management and general pollution issues was taken from about 80 households. Information on coal-ash and ways to connect with the campaign war letterboxed or delivered. 

Eraring ash dump expansion

The proposal to expand the Eraring coal-ash dump saw the HCEC garner media attention on the coal-ash dump issue, in a Sydney Morning Herald article, penned by Peter Hannam exposing the hazards of ash dumps. Read it here.
