The highly successful ‘_Climate Change Despair and Empowerment Roadshow__’_ will be held in both Newcastle and Lake Macquarie to inspire and motivate people by showing what they can do to bring about change. The roadshows address the hopeless despair many people feel about climate change and provide tools to transform that despair into effective action. The multi-media presentation includes video footage of Al Gore speaking on the Australian situation and unveils ‘business-as-usual’ solutions such as clean coal and nuclear energy and the massive subsidies to the fossil fuel industry. It raises awareness to inspire political action and encourage changes on a personal level through discussion and empowerment. * *Newcastle* Friday 11 May 7 – 9 pm Hunter Room Newcastle City Hall *Entry to the roadshows is FREE and donations gratefully accepted.* *RSVP is essential to 8588 1260 / 0425 243 860 or can@climateaction.org.au <mailto:can@climateaction.org.au>* Presented by Climate Action Newcastle in association with the Rainforest Information Centre Lismore Climate Action Newcastle is a broad-based community group working to educate and empower people on climate change and to advocate solutions at the political level.
