This week HCEC Coordinator, Jo Lynch and member of the Coal-ash Community Alliance, Gary Blashke publicly called on the Independant Planning Commission to reconsider a decision not to hold a public meeting regarding the Eraring ash dam expansion proposal.

"The community is frustrated by the lack of transparency; people want answers about the current pollution issues and the future of these ash sites," Ms Lynch said.

"The IPC has an opportunity to facilitate this by holding a public meeting."

You can read our additional submission to the IPC, here which makes a case for a public meeting to be called in light of the loss of the Myuna Bay Recreation Centre, which focused the communites attention on the hazards of the Eraring ash dump, already leaching heavy metals and impeding locals ability to fish from the biggest seaboard lake in the hemishphere.
