Early May saw the formation of theĀ Coal-Ash Community Alliance, a group of concerned citizens wanting to address the pollution threats to land, water and people posed by the 60 million+ tonnes of coal-ash waste, lying toxic and dormant on the shores of Lake Macquarie.

CCA will host regular meetings to address the burden of coal-ash waste being placed on the communities around the lake, and those living in close proximity to coal-ash dumps and power stations.

We're happy our research into heavy metal pollution issues stemming from power stations has been translated into constructive community action - Congratulations to everyone at the first CCA meeting for taking steps to address local environmental issues.
